Though founded under the umbrella of the Charlbury School Association, the Beer Festival became an independent charity in 2005. This allows money to be given to local good causes in addition to the primary school.

The school remains a principal beneficiary and has recently received grants for a sandpit, hall and stage lighting, a sound system, computer equipment and playground equipment. But we have also been able to support the town's youth theatres (helping one group to take a show to the Edinburgh Festival), the Pre-School, The Cricket Club, The Toddler Group and many other local causes.
